Day trip to Scheveningen? Tap off!

In parts of the center of The Hague and the Scheveningen district, parking will become extra expensive. Regardless of how long you park there, you pay the daily rate. Parking for 15 minutes? That will be €50 please.
Omroep West reports that the Municipality of The Hague has started a trial to encourage visitors to the center and day tourists to park in less expensive parking garages instead of on the street. The expectation is that the measure will leave enough parking space for residents of The Hague and the Scheveningen district. Residents with a parking permit are often only allowed to park their car on the street and not in a parking garage.
The experiment will last one year. Parking in certain streets in the center of The Hague and the Scheveningen district will therefore be quite expensive in the coming year. Whether you park your car for half a day, a few hours or just 10 minutes: you always pay the full daily rate of €50. According to Omroep West, the measure applies in The Hague in the streets Bierkade, Aprochestraat, Zuidwal and Hoge Zand, among others. In Scheveningen these include the Harteveltstraat, Jongeneelstraat and Seinpostduin.
Incidentally, the Municipality of The Hague is also investigating whether it can introduce an environmental zone in the coastal area from 1 January 2025. It would be a zero-emission zone for trucks and delivery vans and ‘polluting passenger cars’ could also be banned. The investigation will last until the summer, after which the municipal executive and the municipal council can decide whether and under what conditions an environmental zone will be created.
