Abarth 500th and 500th Turismo

Abarth presents its fully electric 500e and 500e Turismo, the two ‘regular’ variants of its first electric car, after we were introduced to the introduction version: the 500e Scorpionissima. The Abarth 500e now costs from €39,490.

After the success of the first electric Abarth – the 500e Scorpionissima – it is now time for the regular variants of that car, the 500e and 500e Turismo. This reduces the starting price for the electric city car a bit, because the richly equipped launch edition with a minimum amount of €44,000 (and €47,000 for the ‘convertible’) was certainly not a bargain. Nevertheless, all available Scorpionissimas were sold out within a few weeks, according to Abarth. That is why we call it a success.

Anyway. The Abarth 500e is now also available as a nameless entry-level model and as a Turismo, where the differences between them and the differences with the Scorpionissima are only in the equipment. We start with the 500e without addition, which can be ordered immediately for from €39,490. If you want one with a canvas roof, you must leave at least €42,490 with the dealer. Remarkable, because with the Turismo version the price difference between the closed and open version is €500 smaller.

Turismo standard quite complete

If you nevertheless go for the least expensive, then your car can be recognized by the 17-inch wheels. Abarth does not mention other external differences between the slip-on and the Turismo, but the standard equipment does differ. The entry-level model always has things like climate control, navigation and full LED lighting all around, so that we can speak of a standard already relatively richly equipped car.

Those who opt for the Turismo, which is in the order books for €43,490 (€45,990 for the convertible), add to the standard equipment 18-inch wheels, Alcantara seat and steering wheel upholstery, a JBL Premium Audio system, keyless go, a reversing camera and the sound generator please. The latter is a speaker that places Abarth in front of the rear bumper and can make your 500e sound like something other than an electric car from the outside – say like an electric guitar (for real) or like a four-cylinder Abarth.

Specifications

As mentioned, the specifications of every Abarth 500e are the same, because under the skin there are no differences – nameless, Turismo or Scorpionissima. Each version does it with a 154 hp electric motor on the front axle, good for a 0-100 of ‘less than 7 seconds’. Who calmly deals with the available power should be able to go up to 265 WLTP kilometers (depending on the wheel size), thanks to a battery pack with a net capacity of 37.8 kWh.

The electric Abarth 500e can be ordered immediately.
