One and a half Honda NSX on a monster tour through the United States

The Honda NSX is a hybrid powerhouse that, in addition to sporting adventures, apparently lends itself well to making a big road trip. What seems? With one and a half NSX you can eat even better kilometers.

Honda’s luxury brand Acura has presented a very special creation. The NSX – which in the United States is not run by Honda but by Acura – gets half an NSX behind it. Entering this year’s Tire Rack One Lap of America is a pair of Acura techs who’ve built an NSX Type S “half copy” as a trailer especially for that huge automotive adventure.

The One Lap of America is an annual automotive event where participants drive criss-cross across the United States. There are time trials on various American circuits across the country and of course you have to drive from location to location. A team of Acura technicians participates in an eight-day and more than 5,100-kilometer ride with this ‘one and a half NSX’. The half NSX Type S that hangs behind the actual motorized version includes spare tires, tools and necessary fluids. Did Acura saw a brand new NSX Type S in half? Fortunately not. The company salvaged an early shredder prototype and cut it in half.
