VZR lease top 10

The compact segment is getting more and more expensive. The Volkswagen Polo and the Ford Fiesta now even exceed €25,000 in terms of tax value. You will no longer find these permanent residents of the Lease top 10 up to €25,000 and move on to the top 10 from €25,000 – €50,000. Why do the smaller models keep increasing in price?
Increased safety requirements
New cars must meet increasingly stringent safety requirements. Lane assistance, parking sensors and a reversing camera, among other things, are mandatory on new models and are therefore standard equipment. This was already common with models in the higher segment, but we now also see this reflected in the compact segment.
Parts are scarce
The chip shortage is still unresolved and raw material prices are going through the roof. As a result, high prices for parts and materials are charged. This is reflected in the price.
BPM rises
The tax on passenger cars and motorcycles (bpm) depends on the CO2 emissions of the car. The higher the emissions, the more you can pay. The government has tightened these rules. For a compact car, this can cost more than €1,000. There are now even plans to double the bpm in 2025.
