Another big name that withdraws completely from Russia

The Volkswagen Group has sold its Russian branch, Volkswagen Group Rus, to the Russian Art-Finance. The brand thus breaks its last ties with the country.
Volkswagen Group Rus is the Russian division of the Volkswagen Group. Or rather: wax. Volkswagen sells its shares in the branch to the Russian party Art-Finance, thereby distancing itself from the means of production and financial services it owned and provided in Russia.
Two months ago, Volkswagen was already sued by the Russian manufacturer GAZ Group, because the German brand prematurely ended its cooperation with the party and therefore did not comply with the signed contracts. Subsequently, the Russian court froze all assets of Volkswagen Group Rus.
Now Volkswagen is taking the decision to sell that entire branch. So now there is no longer a cessation of its activities in the country, but a complete withdrawal. With the sale of Volkswagen Group Rus, the Germans have lost a factory (in Kaluga), its sales activities in Russia and several storage facilities. Before the Russian aggression started, the brand built its Tiguan and Polo and the Rapid from Skoda in Kaluga.
Volkswagen is not the first volume brand to completely break its ties with Russia. Mazda, Ford and Nissan, among others, already preceded the brand.
