International Volkswagen Bus Day
Volkswagen will pull the curtain off the extra-long ID Buzz on June 2. The brand does this in California, on a day that it calls ‘International Volkswagen Bus Day’. It is not just that Volkswagen chooses to reveal the longer variant in the United States: the ID Buzz debuts there in its long capacity, because the shorter one passes the American noses.
On June 2, the Volkswagen ID Buzz with a longer wheelbase and seven seats will debut in the United States. From then on, according to the Germans, June 2 will be ‘International Volkswagen Bus Day’, the date on which the brand will annually reflect on its past on the van market. The market launch of the long-wheelbase ID Buzz, which recently appeared in front of our spy photographer’s lens, will take place in 2024. At least in America.
To date, the Volkswagen ID Buzz is not yet available in the United States. Those interested there have to wait for the introduction of the long-wheelbase variant, because the shorter one will not be delivered there. The long-wheelbase variant will initially only be available as a seven-seater in the US, but five-seater variants and an order version will also follow – at least in Europe. Those who like six or seven seats are not necessarily dependent on the extra long Buzz here. The ‘regular’ body variant will also be available with more than five seats in due course.
Whether the market introduction of the larger Volkswagen ID Buzz is also planned for 2024 in Europe is still unclear. Anyone who is only curious about how an extra long wheelbase stands on the ID Buzz can circle June 2 in his or her agenda.
