Porsche Taycan Turbo S dethroned

In the category ‘electric production cars’, the Tesla Model S Plaid can call itself king of the Nürburgring. The Tesla Model S Plaid with the optional Track Pack knocks the Porsche Taycan Turbo S off the throne with a silent thump. Be sure to watch the video too!
In August 2022, Porsche test driver Lars Kern blew over the nearly 21-kilometre Nürburgring-Nordschleife in a Porsche Taycan Turbo S. The 761 hp electric Taycan Turbo S – with the optional Tequipment Performance pack – completed a lap the Green Hell in 7 minutes and 33.3 seconds. The Taycan Turbo S must now acknowledge its superior in another outlandish motorized EV. The Tesla Model S Plaid is now the fastest electric production car on the legendary German circuit.
Tesla reports that the Model S Plaid completed a lap on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife in 7 minutes and 25,231 counts. That makes the Tesla Model S Plaid 8 counts faster than its German counterpart on the circuit. Like the earlier record-breaking Taycan, the Tesla Model S Plaid, which is now the fastest mass-produced electric car on the track, was not quite standard. It was equipped with optional Track Pack. The Track Pack includes ceramic brake discs, modified brake calipers and 20-inch wheels with Goodyear Supercar 3R rubber. The Track Pack also increases the top speed of the Model S Plaid from 250 km/h to 322 km/h. The Tesla does not seem to reach that speed during its record lap.
By nature it is already a heavy device. The EV has three together 1,020 hp powerful electric motors and buzzes to a speed of 100 km / h in 2.1 seconds. The Model S Plaid has a starting price of €132,490 in the Netherlands.
