A month ago we already wrote that a new ZX-6R is coming and we were right. Kawasaki has unveiled the extensively updated 2024 ZX-6R in the United States.

After it emerged last month that Kawasaki had registered two new versions of the ZX-6R for 2024 in the United States, the ZX636J and ZX636K, we quickly became convinced that those new versions would not be exclusively reserved for the US, but that they would also would come to Europe.
With the arrival of Euro5, Kawasaki had been forced to remove the ZX-6R from its range, and given that the supersport motorcycle market has been decimated since its heyday, that seemed to be a definitive end. However, the documents of the new ZX-6Rs showed that the block had much better emission values.
Given that emission requirements in the US have not become stricter since the last ZX-6R (and will not be for the time being, although there is talk of California wanting to adopt Euro standards), Kawasaki had flat, so no adjustments have to be made, if it were only intended for the US.
In a first press release, Kawasaki says the 2024 ZX-6R has thoroughly revised the engine, which includes a new camshaft profile, new intake manifolds and an improved manifold and collector. These innovations must have resulted in more torque in the bottom and midrange, with lower emissions.
Also new for 2024 is the addition of integrated driving modes. The four available modes (Sport, Road, Rain and the adjustable Rider mode) make it easy for the rider to choose the setting that suits the conditions. In addition, the ABS has also been further improved and a quickshifter is standard equipment.
Retaining the aluminum delta box frame that Kawasaki says is key to its excellent balance of nimble handling, cornering control and the ability to change lines with ease, coupled with excellent feedback.

Radial-mount monobloc calipers, ø310 mm disc brake rotors and a radial master cylinder at the front provide powerful braking performance with excellent brake lever feel.
A ø220mm disc brake and lightweight caliper slow down the rear wheel. The suspension is provided by a fully adjustable ø41 mm SHOWA SFF-BP front fork and a fully adjustable rear shock absorber.
The most striking change is the new design. The completely new top fairing in particular breathes the sharp Ninja DNA. For example, the new LED projector headlights and Ram-Air intake painted in color immediately catch the eye.
The layered 3D fairing design features vents to generate more downforce and direct wind away from the rider. The chin spoiler is slanted downwards to create more downforce when cornering. Openings in the new windshield eliminate the vacuum that a normal windshield can create at high speed.
The cockpit houses the well-known 4.3″ TFT color display with Bluetooth connectivity. In addition to a tachometer with shift indicator and current gear, the display shows a large amount of optional information such as dual trip meters, range, battery voltage and much more.
Vehicle information can be read remotely, as well as maintenance reminders, via the Rideology app. The brightness of the screen automatically switches between three levels depending on the amount of natural light.
The new Ninja ZX-6R will be available this fall at the official Kawasaki dealer in Lime Green/Ebony (KRT Edition) and Metallic Graphite Gray/Metallic Diablo Black. Prices will be announced later.
