Kawasaki reveals price of 2024 Ninja ZX-4RR

Its final specifications were already announced a month ago – and they don’t lie – but now we also know how much cloth has to be put on the table for the new ZX-4RR.

Kawasaki reveals price of 2024 Ninja ZX-4RR

It’s been the design talk for over a year now, the arrival of a new ZX-4R with which Kawasaki wants to breathe new life into the 1990s damned popular 400 Supersport segment. High-revving whining four-cylinder engines, packed in a lightweight frame with a super cool design.

The first rumors came from Japan, but it soon turned out that Team Green had registered the new 400 in two different versions in the United States: ZX400PP and ZX400SP, both of which were registered as Super Sports models.

When Kawasaki’s worst kept secret was revealed at the beginning of this year, it turned out to be 3 different models: ZX-4R, ZX4R SE and ZX-4RR, of which only the last model will be available in the Benelux.

The ZX-4RR is powered by a completely newly developed four-cylinder in-line engine that has a displacement of 399cc from a bore x stroke of 57 x 39.1mm. That’s a fraction more than the 398cc that the ’90s edition got from a bore x stroke of 57 x 39 mm.

In terms of performance, however, Team Green has taken a huge step forward, Kawasaki now claiming peak power output of 80 horsepower at 14,500rpm and a maximum rpm that exceeds 15,000rpm. That’s a lot more than the 64 hp at 13,000 rpm that the ZXR400 squeezed out.

The completely newly developed four-in-line is mounted in a steel lattice tube frame, which, in combination with the long banana-bent swingarm, must have ensured optimal weight distribution, as well as a perfect balance between stiffness and flexibility. At the front we find a Showa SSF-BP upside down fork, while at the rear a Showa SFRC monoshock is fitted.

Some more numbers? The wheelbase is wonderfully short at 1,380 mm, while the head angle of 23.5 ° and the trail of 97 mm are also nice and sporty values. Kawasaki also claims a curb weight of 188 kilos with a full 15 liter tank, which is even lighter than a Ninja 650 (which also has less power). With a seat height of 800 mm, it is also super accessible.

How much should this beauty cost now? The 2024 Ninja ZX-4RR will be available from us in the Netherlands from € 10,699. Fortunately, we don’t have to wait long for it, it will be on display at the Kawasaki dealers in the showroom from September.
