So you thought that the Citroën C4 Cactus had completely disappeared after the arrival of the C4? Forget it. The Citroën C4 Cactus is still very much alive and is being refreshed more than nine years after its launch.
At the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, Citroën presented the headstrong C4 Cactus. That crossover with air bumps, striking lighting and a further somewhat minimalistic character went thoroughly under the knife in 2018 and was followed up in 2020 in the Citroën C4. At least, in Europe. In South America, the C4 is not for sale and the C4 Cactus is still being fed. The South American Cactus story is striking in itself. Initially, the European versions were exported to South America, but the facelifted and therefore current C4 Cactus is produced locally. That version was different from the European one from the start. For example, he stood higher on his feet, he retained the roof racks that disappeared in Europe during the facelift and he got rear doors without folding windows, but with copies that simply fell into the back door. It is that Citroën C4 Cactus that has now been subtly refreshed.
There are no major changes though. For example, the C4 Cactus only gets a set of new light-alloy wheels and the inserts around the fog lights, just like the front airbump on the sides, are now in orange. The crossover is also introduced to a new infotainment system with a very decent diagonal of 10 inches. Citroen installs new USB connections in the crossover and adds an induction charger to the option list. The engine of the C4 Cactus does not change, so there are again both atmospheric and blown 1.6s available in countries such as Argentina and Brazil.
