RS6 from over 2 tons
Audi recently presented its facelift for the Audi A6 and A6 Avant. It is now also known what those refreshed models should yield in the Netherlands: from €64,554 for the sedan, and from €67,710 for the Avant. The offering starts with a 204 hp mild-hybrid petrol powertrain and the preliminary range topper (below the RS6) is the new ’55 TFSI e Quattro Pro Line S Competition – a mouth full – with 367 hp and a plug.

Audi will continue to feed the A6 and is now releasing the prices and versions for the Dutch market. This shows that the car will cost you at least €64,554.
For that money you buy an Audi A6 ’40 TFSI’ sedan with a mild-hybrid powertrain with a four-cylinder and a maximum power of 204 hp. The TFSI engine is linked to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, a combination that you will encounter in every ‘regular’ version of the A6. Yes, the Audi A6 is only available with four cylinders, unless you opt for the RS6.
Is the 40 TFSI powertrain not potent enough for you and would you like to plug in? Then Audi also offers a choice of the 50 TFSI e and the 55 TFSI e, where the small ‘e’ reveals that they are plug-in hybrids. The 50 TFSI e puts out 299 hp, the 55 TFSI e is 367 hp strong. Depending on the chosen version, the two plug-ins can travel up to 68 km on a battery charge. How fast are they? We do not know yet; Audi is not yet releasing performance figures.
Performances
The delivery range is the same for both body styles of the new A6. Both are available as Advanced edition, S edition, S edition Competition and as Pro Line S Competition. The latter is the most complete and only available in combination with the most potent powertrain, the (55 TFSI e). In addition, the S edition is only available with the 50 TFSI e powertrain and the S edition Competition only with the 40 TFSI powertrain, so you only have a choice of engine if you go for the Advanced edition: you can get it with both the ’40 ‘- get as ’50’ powertrain and is also the entry-level model.
As an Advanced edition, the A6 has 18-inch alloy wheels and the car has electrically adjustable seats, a digital instrument panel and an extensive infotainment system with ten speakers, including a subwoofer. The A6 also has standard LED lighting all around, a four-zone climate control and – as an Avant – an electrically operated tailgate.
All versions above the Advanced edition receive sporty elements, are on at least 19-inch wheels and always have LED matrix headlights. Things like mood lighting, privacy glass and more extensive driver assistance systems also distinguish the more expensive versions of the entry-level model.
Audi RS6
Those who have a lot – a lot – more money to spend can go for the Audi RS6. It comes in two flavours. The ‘regular’ is 600 hp strong and costs from €205,483. The 630 hp Performance is available from €214,142. The RS6 is again only available as an Avant. An extra potent version of the RS6 will probably follow later.
