Be prepared

Hooray, summer vacation! Caravan behind the car and on to the South of France. But beware: more people think that. Be especially prepared when you leave tomorrow, because it is expected to be the day with the most holiday traffic this summer. The Black Saturday.
Tomorrow is the busiest day of the year on the holiday routes, warns ANWB Traffic Information. So prepare for delays and take any necessary measures if you plan to leave for your holiday destination tomorrow. Enough water in the car, some entertainment for the kids, a book and maybe something to sew offer a solution if you’re on a hot highway waiting for the traffic jams to subside – or consider driving at another time.
Not only the Dutch, but also the French and Germans are flocking to the south, so the traffic services of those countries also warn for traffic jams. In France, it will mainly connect to the Route Soleil to Lyon and the motorways from the Paris region to Bordeaux. In Germany, the motorways in the south are full, especially in the direction of the Swiss and Austrian borders. The ANWB reports that there is currently quite a bit of work in Germany: about 1,400 Baustelle are spread throughout the country.
Liege – Luxembourg
Finally, a point of attention when driving through Luxembourg: the Cointetunnel is closed to cars with a caravan near Liège in the direction of Luxembourg. These serve to drive via Namur.
