Not crazy, Togg?
It has been quiet for a while around the Turkish car brand Togg. That does not mean that people are sitting still in Turkey. Far from it, even. In the homeland, Togg is going like a rocket. Time for a closer look at its firstborn, the T10X.
Almost four years ago, an image of cars from the Turkish Togg appeared here on AutoWeek.nl for the first time. It all started with an SUV that had to come with both fuel engines and an electric drive. A car that eventually dried up to the Togg T10X. Last spring was the market introduction of the T10X in its home country Turkey, where the electric SUV with a driving range of up to 523 km has since been sold more than 1,400 times.
Togg T10XTo be precise, Togg sold 1,435 units of the T10X in Turkey from January to July, putting it in second place among the most popular electric cars. Only the Renault Zoe was marginally more popular; 1,466 were sold during that period. Thanks to the T10X, Togg is currently in third place among brands selling electric cars in Turkey. Only MG and Renault did better business this year, with 1,697 and 1,466 cars sold respectively. This is all evident from figures from the local automotive analysts of EBS and industry association ODMD, which AutoWeek thanks to NU.nlcolleague Nick Augusteijn has seen. According to him, the delivery of the Tesla Model Y in Turkey still has to get going and larger numbers are not expected until the autumn, so there may be some shifts then.
Thanks to Augusteijn we also have a better picture of the Togg T10X. He was already able to sniff the T10X extensively in Turkey and saw a car that looks great and is spacious, but according to him (at least with the showroom cars) in terms of material and finish it is still a bit mediocre here and there. Apparently the whole is convincing enough for many Turks. The Togg T10X costs at least €41,600 in its home country. Then you have the ‘V1’, with a driving range of 314 km. The V2 with the longer driving range (523 km) costs at least around €53,000. In all cases you have a 218 hp and 350 Nm strong electric motor that drives the rear wheels.

At the end of next year, the Togg T10X designed by Pininfarina will also come to Western Europe and the Netherlands, that is the plan. You can read more about the Togg T10X here. Incidentally, Togg will eventually come with more models, namely an electric sedan and a fastback-like.
