Polestar proudly announces that it has started production of the recently technically further developed Polestar 2. The brand proudly announces that jet has now built 150,000 Polestar 2s.

Although Polestar profiled itself as an ‘EV brand’ immediately after it broke away from Volvo, the brand’s first car was quite an expensive plug-in hybrid limited to 1,500 units. We now only know Polestar from cars with electric powertrains. The Polestar 2 was unveiled at the end of 2019 and went into production in 2020. It was the brand’s first EV. In the three years that Polestar has now produced the 2, 150,000 units have been screwed together. If you park them all in a row, that would also result in a 690-kilometer row of Polestars 2 in addition to a lot of work. Do what you will with that information.

Of those 150,000 Polestars 2, according to the figures, more than 20,000 units are driving around in the United Kingdom. That’s quite a few. A large number of Polestars 2 can also be found in the Netherlands. More than 9,000 units have now been registered in our country.

The recently upgraded Polestar 2 has a range of 654 kilometers as a Long Range Single Motor (299 hp, 82 kWh battery). The Polestar 2 Long Range Dual Motor with two combined 421 hp electric motors (476 hp with Performance Pack) kicks it up to 592 kilometers with the same battery. The Standard Range Single Motor (272 hp and 69 kWh battery) can travel up to 532 kilometers on a full charge.

The Polestar 3 was presented at the end of last year and can already be ordered. The Polestar 4 – which will be placed between 2 and 3 – later made its public debut. It is not yet known what it will cost. The Polestar 5 – an electric GT-like and electric convertible Polestar 6 are also in the pipeline.
