Audi Q6 e-tron interior

The Audi Q6 e-tron was initially going to be presented at the end of last year, but even in what is already the ninth month of 2023, we still cannot show you the Audi Q6 e-tron in its entirety. Audi does open the doors of its electric alternative to the Q5 and gives the spectator a look at the interior of its new and important model.

The Audi Q6 e-tron will be the very first Audi – and probably also the first model within the Volkswagen Group – to be on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) developed jointly by Audi and Porsche. This PPE basis will also be used on the electric Macan and on models yet to be released on the market, such as the Audi A6 e-tron. The modular EV base will therefore sit below at least a handful of high-in-the-tree models and in a sense you can therefore see it as the larger premium alternative to the MEB base. The Audi Q6 e-tron should have been presented at the end of 2022, but that clearly did not work out. We will not yet see the final production version in its entirety in September, although Audi is now showing the interior of the SUV.

That interior is already quite interesting. For example, the Audi Q6 e-tron has an enormous curved display behind the steering wheel that extends far beyond the center of the dashboard. To date, we do not know this from any Audi model. For example, the infotainment screen and the instruments in cars such as the Q4 e-tron, Q8 e-tron and e-tron GT are clearly separated. The shape of the panel is also striking, which is inspired by Audi’s characteristic Single Frame grille. By the way, not the entire curved panel is one screen. It is filled with an 11.9-inch instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch touchscreen that functions as an infotainment screen. And what about the co-driver? It will not be forgotten. At least, if you pay extra. The Q6 e-tron is optionally available with a 10.9-inch screen for the co-driver. Movies can also be watched there. More news? Certainly. For example, Audi is introducing a completely new operating system for the displays in the Q6 e-tron that runs on Android Automotive. A augmented realityThe infotainment screen will be optionally available and Audi will give the Q6 e-tron a digital self-learning assistant that you can talk to.

We also see mood lighting running from the door panels to the windshield and the option to finish the dashboard with wood. Physical buttons are not completely eliminated. For example, we see a physical rotary and push button to control the audio volume, but there are not many left. Underneath the infotainment screen, there is a strip containing touch-sensitive shortcuts and touch buttons to operate the climate control, among other things. The driver’s side door contains what Audi calls its ‘Black Panel’. This is a touch-sensitive panel that allows you to operate things such as the side mirror and seat adjustment. And what do we find under the heading ‘sustainable materials’? Audi talks about the use of recycled polyester and mentions, among other things, floor mats that include fishing nets, carpet and residual products.

Liters

For the first time, Audi also releases how much you can fit in the car. The luggage compartment is 529 liters. With the rear seats folded down, the luggage space increases to 1,529 liters. Also in the so-called frunk You can still store a few things under the front flap. The luggage compartment there is 64 liters.

By the way, you should not confuse the Audi Q6 e-tron with the SUV called Q6 that Audi sells in China. Those cars differ enormously from each other. For example, the Audi Q6 e-tron is actually Audi’s version of the Volkswagen Atlas/Teramont. Indeed: a hell of an SUV, but unlike the higher positioned Touareg, one on the MQB platform.
