‘Just do everything, in orange’

Orange above: special collection of Aston Martins under the hammer

Around the beginning of the last decade, someone placed a very special order with Aston Martin. Now the entire orange collection has been put up for auction in one fell swoop.

Was it someone with a preference for the color orange or someone with plans to set up an exclusive car rental company with an orange corporate identity? We may never get the answer, because auction house Bonhams is offering this collection of Aston Martins purchased by ‘a private individual’ without background information about the original owner. In any case, the original buyer, probably Swiss, gave a clear order to Aston Martin in 2010: “I would like your complete model range and all cars in Tangerine Orange and with an orange interior.”

So here are the Aston Martins DBS Coupe, DBS Volante, DB9 Coupe, DB9 Volante, V8 Vantage Coupe, V8 Vantage Volante, V12 Vantage Coupe and Rapide together, all in an unmissable color scheme. If Aston Martin had still been the title sponsor of Red Bull Racing, this would have been a nice set for Max Verstappen to drive around in. Now, however, everyone can take advantage and, in addition to particularly colored cars, you also get some pretty fresh cars. None of them have driven more than a few hundred kilometers. Now that is not necessarily favorable, but with a little technical attention you will have as good as new Aston Martins. You just have to like orange…

A timeless beauty, such a DBS Volante, but also in orange?

The least expensive of the bunch are the two V8 Vantages and the Rapide, which are expected to fetch between €40,000 and €60,000 each, according to Bonhams. The proceeds from the two DBSs are estimated to be the highest, namely between €80,000 and €120,000 each. The auction will take place on October 8 in Knokke-Heist, Belgium.
