Truck Week?

Wait a minute, we’re not Truck Week, are we? Certainly not, but we don’t want to deprive you of this eActross from Mercedes-Benz. It is the largest electric vehicle that Mercedes-Benz has on the menu. It has been thoroughly renewed, has an EQ-like front and can travel up to 500 kilometers thanks to a huge battery pack.
The Mercedes-Benz EQS can travel up to 731 kilometers on a full battery, making it the electric Benz with the longest range. It is also one of the largest electric cars that the brand has in its range. It is not the largest EV of the brand. That title goes to this brand new Mercedes-Benz eActros 600.

Mercedes-Benz eActros 600
It is not the first time that Mercedes-Benz presented an electric Actros. For example, the brand already pulled the curtain off the eActros in 2021, but it has now been thoroughly renewed. Of course, the colossus with its flat, upright nose is immediately recognizable as a truck from the brand, but it now looks more than ever like the conceptual GenH2 Truck that the brand presented a few years ago. This means that its snout is a lot smoother. Mercedes-Benz therefore praises the efficient way in which the eActros 600 pushes its flat front through the wind. Everything is relative.
The eActros 600 has three battery packs, each with a capacity of 207 kWh. This brings the total electrical lung capacity to no less than 621 kWh. The LFP batteries should also last quite a long time. Mercedes-Benz aims to have more than 80 percent of a loading capacity left after 10 years of no less than 1.2 million kilometers of experience. The package should give the eActros 600 an electric range of 500 kilometers. According to the Germans, trucks in Europe cover less than 500 kilometers each way in 60 percent of cases, so the eActros 600 should be sufficient for many drivers. According to Mercedes-Benz, fast charging is possible with up to 400 kW, but at a later stage the battery pack should also be able to generate ‘megawatts’ of volts with new electricity. The Mercedes-Benz eActros has a loading capacity of 22 tons with a standard semi-trailer. Mercedes-Benz claims that the eActros 600 – depending on the country in which it is sold and driven – will be more profitable than an average diesel truck within about five years or after 600,000 kilometers.
Naturally, the electric colossus is equipped with more than powerful electric motors. The eActros 600 has two electric motors with a combined peak power of 815 hp. The brand has equipped the eActros 600 with a four-speed transmission, but does not release any further information about this. Drivers who have experience with one pedal driving in an electric car and being able to breathe easy. One pedal driving is also possible in Mercedes’ electric truck.
The Mercedes-Benz Actros 600 will go into production at the end of this year.
