Busy evening rush hour also expected

There is a good chance that whoever got into the car this morning was allowed to join the traffic jam. You were certainly not alone. There was almost 1,000 kilometers of traffic jams this morning, the ANWB reported.
At the height of the morning rush hour this morning there was almost 1,000 kilometers of traffic jams. According to the ANWB, there was a total of approximately 970 kilometers of traffic jams on the Dutch road network at half past eight this morning.
The delay on the road is said to have been caused, among other things, by the rain that fell on Thursday morning. The combination of rain and the fact that it was still (partly) dark during a significant part of the morning rush hour also resulted in several accidents. Collisions took place on the A4 from The Hague to Rotterdam and from Gouda to Hoek van Holland. Rijkswaterstaat also expects many traffic jams during the evening rush hour. After all, the evening rush hours have regularly been busier than the morning rush hours in recent times. Another factor is that the autumn holidays start on Friday for the Central and South regions. According to Rijkswaterstaat, last year there were more than 500 kilometers of traffic jams on the Thursday evening before the start of the autumn holidays.
