Toyota looks ahead to a car without pedals and a moon car

Anyone who is completely tired of Toyota after reading about all the new study models that Toyota is bringing to the Japan Mobility Show would better look the other way. There is even more Toyota news. We are introduced to a Land Cruiser without pedals and with a bit of lunar mobility.

After the Land Cruiser Se and the EPU Concept that we just introduced to you, the bag of Toyota news is still not completely empty. Toyota is also bringing the Neo steering wheel to the Japan Mobility Show. The Neo steering wheel is a strikingly designed steering wheel with more or less upright handles as you know from various bicycles. Both the accelerator and brake pedals are integrated into the steering wheel. So you have to be able to operate it with your fingers. Pedals will then no longer be necessary, Toyota reasons. In the photos we see the interior of the new Land Cruiser (Prado) in which the steering wheel is mounted. If you look closely, you will see that there are indeed no traditional foot pedals visible. According to Toyota, this makes it easier to get in and out. Of course, such a handlebar would also be ideal for people with a physical disability.

No more pedals in this Land Cruiser.

More notable news comes in the form of a moon car. Toyota presents the fair visitor with an experimental lunar vehicle that has an electric motor in each wheel. The four-wheel drive and four-wheel steering equipped adventurer must be able to drive over rocks up to 50 centimeters high without any problems. Technology included in this technical study will eventually be applied to the Lunar Cruiser. The moon car is 3.46 meters long, 2.18 meters wide and 1.86 meters high. It offers space for two passengers.
