An edge over the Passat

This is how the new Skoda Superb becomes

While all the attention in the car world today is focused on the new models and concept cars presented during the Japan Mobility Show, Skoda is casually releasing design sketches of the brand new Superb into the world.

The new Volkswagen Passat was recently unveiled and the Czech alternative to that car will also soon be completely renewed. We are of course talking about the Skoda Superb. He already has an interesting trump card in his hands. In contrast to the new Passat, which is only available as a Variant, the new Skoda Superb is available as a Combi and as a spacious liftback. So two flavors.

It is evident that the Superb is a sister model of the Passat.

The new Skoda Superb will be presented on November 2 and the Czechs hope to keep us busy for a while with a set of drawings of both the Superb hatchback and Superb Combi. In the silhouette of the Skoda Superb Combi, the family ties with the new Passat Variant are clear. With the liftback version, Skoda seems to be following a design path that you know from the current Superb. Once again, the license plate is housed under a kind of canopy in the tailgate.

The Skoda Superb will of course be spacious again. In fact, it will be more spacious than the outgoing model. The new Skoda Superb Hatchback will soon swallow 645 liters. 20 liters more than the current one. You will soon be able to press 590 liters in the Superb Combi. Compared to the outgoing model, the Skoda Superb hatchback grows in length by more than 4 centimeters to 4.91 meters. Skoda previously released the interior of the new Superb.

Just like the Passat, with which the Superb will soon be rolled off the production line, the new large Skoda is also on the MQB platform. Count on the arrival of mild-hybrid engine versions, but also on the arrival of one or even more plug-in hybrid iV flavors. In any case, there will be a 204 hp plug-in version. We have already been able to drive a wrapped new Superb. You can read how that worked out here.
