Charging an electric car at Shell Recharge is more expensive along the highway

Shell Recharge is adjusting its charging rates again. As of November 1, you will pay more for fast charging along the highway than at other locations.

Earlier this month we wrote that Shell Recharge increased its charging rates from €0.65 per kWh to €0.72 per kWh. Shell Recharge is now adjusting those rates again, both up and down. What’s up with that? Well now. At fast chargers of the Shell Recharge network you pay €0.65 per kWh again. That’s a bonus! However, you now pay €0.72 per kWh for fast charging at Shell Recharge along the highway. It is the first time that the Shell Recharge network is divided into rates for charging along the highway and charging at other locations.

At fast chargers from Shell Recharge partners that the company has incorporated into its roaming network you pay €0.76 per kWh. The charging rate at regular AC charging points in Shell’s roaming network is €0.55 per kWh.
