Nice investment

Toyota is allocating another $8 billion for its new battery factory in the United States. Ultimately, 30 GWh of battery capacity must be produced there per year.
Toyota is building a brand new battery factory in the American state of North Carolina. It initially invested almost $4 billion in this, followed by another $2 billion last summer. Now a large amount of money has been added to that, namely 8 billion dollars. “The total investment now amounts to approximately $13.9 billion and will create more than 5,000 jobs,” Toyota said in an official statement. “This supports Toyota’s multi-pronged approach to global fleet electrification.”
Multiple approach? Yes, the plant in North Carolina will not only focus on fully electric cars, but will also produce batteries for hybrid and plug-in hybrid cars. This new investment will specifically benefit eight battery production lines for fully electric and plug-in hybrid cars, up from two previously announced. In addition to the total of ten production lines, there are also four where batteries for hybrid cars are produced. For now, Toyota is only talking about the production of lithium-ion batteries in North Carolina.
