Toyota Highlander prices up

Toyota is making the largest SUV it supplies in the Netherlands more expensive. We are not talking about the RAV4, but about the Toyota Highlander. The prices of the Toyota Highlander will increase by up to €2,500 in the Netherlands, although not every variant will be that much more expensive.
Toyota decided in 2020 to also bring the then one-year-old Highlander to the Netherlands. The Toyota Highlander is certainly not Toyota’s most popular model in the Netherlands, but that is not that strange. With its length of almost 5 meters, the Highlander is a large SUV. It is no less than 35 centimeters longer than the RAV4 and thanks to its considerable dimensions it can accommodate up to seven passengers. Only 19 copies of the Toyota Highlander, which is always hybrid in the Netherlands – elsewhere the car is also available with a 3.5 V6 – have been registered so far this year. The Highlander is currently doing just as well – or poorly – as the Camry. This year, as many copies of the Highlander were registered as the Ferrari 296. So a bit forgotten, that Highlander. Then it probably doesn’t help that Toyota is now raising car prices.
Depending on the chosen version, the Toyota Highlander becomes €450 to €2,500 more expensive. The Toyota Highlander 2.5 Hybrid previously sold as a Style from €70,995, but now costs €73,495. The Highlander is also available as an Executive and as a Premium. The Toyota Highlander costs €82,995 and €86,195 in those versions. The Executive version has therefore become 2 grand more expensive. The price of the Premium is now €500 higher than before. Toyota also supplies a number of Business versions.
Will Toyota give anything in return for the higher amounts it asks for the Highlander? Certainly. For example, the Style version now has standard parking sensors at the front and rear and the instrument cluster with a 7-inch screen has been replaced by a 12.3-inch fully digital clock shop. You can now also open the tailgate on the Executive version by making a kicking movement under the rear bumper.
Regardless of the chosen version, the Toyota Highlander has a 248 hp hybrid powertrain. The SUV, weighing at least 2,090 kilos, sprints from a standstill to a speed of 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds. Average consumption is 6.6 – 7.1 l/100 km according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
