A new month, a new Chinese car brand coming to the Netherlands. Meet Exlantix, a brand of the Chinese car manufacturer Chery that will bring not only an electric SUV, but also an electric sedan to the Netherlands in 2024.

The first copies of the Omoda 5 will come to the Netherlands early next year. The Omoda 5 is an SUV from the Chinese manufacturer Chery. In its home country of China, Omoda is a Chery fashion line and not so much a separate brand. Omoda is marketed as a brand in export markets – including the Netherlands. The electric Omoda 5 that is coming to the Netherlands is not the only EV from Chery that is to be marketed in Europe. Chery also intends to bring Jaecoo and Exlantix to Europe. Now we know what Exlantix is going to do in the Netherlands.

Exlantix will launch the ES and ET on the Dutch market in 2024. The Exlantix ES – let’s wait and see what Lexus thinks of that model name – is an electric sedan. The Exlantix ET in turn is an electric SUV. Who is Exlantix intended for? According to the brand itself, its cars are for “[…] the progressive and environmentally conscious motorist.”

Exlantix will only really present the ES and ET during the Geneva Motor Show in March next year, so we do not yet have extensive information about the cars. We can already tell you that the Exlantix ES will have a four-wheel drive variant that has a (WLTP) range of 530 kilometers to its name. Electric SUV Exlantix ET also gets a four-wheel drive version. This results in a WLTP range of 475 kilometers. The ES should be able to reach a speed of 100 km/h from a standstill in less than 4 seconds.

The Exlantix ET will soon be sold by Chery in China under the Exeed sub-brand. There the SUV is called Exeed Sterra ET. The Exlantix ES will be known as Exeed Sterra ES. We found more information about that sedan in the database of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The ES is 4.95 meters long, 1.98 meters wide and has a wheelbase of exactly 3 meters. The sedan, weighing at least 2,040 kilos, has a top speed of 200 km/h and will be marketed in China at least as a 313 hp rear-wheel drive.

We also found more information about electric SUVs in the same Chinese database. At 4.96 meters, the ET is one centimeter longer than the ES and shares its wheelbase with that sedan. The SUV, weighing at least 2,070 kilos, will be marketed in China as a four-wheel drive with a 123 hp electric motor at the front and a 313 hp version at the rear. A stronger four-wheel drive version will also be released with a 249 hp electric motor at the front and a 313 hp powerful unit at the rear. Versions of the ET also appear in China with a 313 hp electric motor on the rear axle. In addition, there will be a milder rear-wheel drive with a 252 hp electric unit at the rear.
