Kawasaki goes double down hybrid with Z 7 Hybrid

Three motorcycles in one – a motorcycle for daily commuting in and around the city, a motorcycle for fun at the weekend and a motorcycle that can drive completely electrically – with the acceleration of a one-liter bicycle and the consumption of a 250cc, as Kawasaki described. three weeks ago the Ninja 7 Hybrid in a nutshell and the same of course also applies to the now unveiled Z 7 Hybrid.

In terms of power unit specifications, the Z 7 Hybrid is exactly the same as the Ninja 7 Hybrid, consisting of a 451cc parallel twin that is good for a top power of 59 hp, a 12 hp electric motor and a total power unit output of 69 hp. The 48V battery placed under the seat is good for driving 12 kilometers electrically, and you can also choose from an ECO-HYBRID and SPORT-HYBRID driving mode.

In ECO-HYBRID mode, the electric motor works in harmony with the combustion engine, offering a ‘best of both worlds’ solution with the choice of a six-speed automatic transmission or manual gear selection via paddles on the steering wheel. A “WALK mode” is a function to make maneuvering and parking easier.

In SPORT-HYBRID mode, the full performance potential of both the electric and petrol engines can be unleashed with the addition of an “E-Boost” function that effectively harnesses five seconds of EV power. Relying on the same chassis as the Ninja 7 Hybrid, the Sugomi-style Z 7 Hybrid opens up a new world in the naked class, while doubling Kawasaki’s Strong Hybrid offering on the market from one to two machines. The engine is expected to be put on the market in the spring of 2024, prices are not yet known.

Expected to hit the market in spring 2024, the Z 7 Hybrid puts Kawasaki firmly at the forefront of the ever-evolving universe of powered two-wheeler technology.
