SUPER73 shows C1X electric prototypes at EICMA

After putting fat bikes on the map worldwide, SUPER73, founded in California in 2016, has focused on motorcycles. The final prototypes of the C1X, an electric motorcycle that will be marketed in various versions, were unveiled at the EICMA in Milan.

Since helmets have become mandatory for mopeds, they are not available in the Netherlands, the so-called fat bikes: electric bicycles with fat tires that are easy to upgrade and with which (increased) speeds of up to 60 km/h can be achieved. It is therefore not surprising that they are extremely popular among young people.

Those who have the youth have the future and so it is not surprising that SUPER73, the American manufacturer that put the fat bike on the map, has now set its sights on the motorcycle industry and is working hard on its first electric motorcycle: the C1X, which will be marketed in different versions for different driving licenses.

The El Jefe & Super Le Pew (you’ll have to come up with some names) show concepts that the basic platform of the C1X could lead to. The designs were created by the SUPER73 design team, which was given plenty of room to develop possible future variants.

The SUPER73 C1X will be marketed in several versions and will meet several driving license guidelines, so you can choose from performance, range and design. You will soon be able to choose from a standard range of 100 miles (160 km) and an Extended Range of 150 miles (240 km) and from A1 and A2 driving license specifications.

SUPER73 claims a top speed of more than 85 miles per hour, that’s more than 86 mph according to our metric system. That’s not exactly impressive, but it will be more than sufficient for daily use in and around the city. Much more interesting, however, is the claimed loading speed. According to the Americans, thanks to new battery technology, from 10% to 80% battery life can be achieved in just 15 minutes, regardless of the size of the battery.
