Budget available for only 180 used EVs

Do you want to buy a used electric car with a SEPP subsidy this year? Then it is important to act quickly. The subsidy pot for the purchase of second-hand electric cars is now almost empty. You’ll probably be fishing behind the net in just a few days!
Almost nothing is left of the €32.4 million that became available at the beginning of this year to make the purchase of a used electric car more attractive. This is evident from an analysis by AutoWeek of the figures from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). At the time of writing, there is only a €360,589 SEPP subsidy budget available for a second-hand electric car with an original tax value (list price) of a maximum of €45,000. This means that 99 percent of the subsidy has been forgiven and therefore only one percent remains. You can receive a financial compensation of €2,000 on the purchase of a used EV. This means that there is still a SEPP subsidy budget available for only 180 second-hand electric cars. A total of 16,020 used electric cars have already been requested for a budget.
With the speed at which this subsidy pot is being emptied, it appears that in a few days there will be no subsidy budget left for used electric cars. In October, AutoWeek already calculated that the SEPP subsidy pot for second-hand EVs would be empty before the end of November. An important note here: some applications may be rejected or withdrawn, resulting in a budget becoming available again. However, it is clear that the end is now in sight.
Subsidy for new electric car
The SEPP subsidy pot that was created to encourage the purchase of a new electric car is being depleted considerably more slowly. Of the €67 million that was made available at the beginning of this year, €28.53 million remains (43 percent). That means only 57 percent has already been forgiven. You can receive a compensation of €2,950 on the purchase of a new electric car with a catalog value (tax price) of €45,000 or less. This means that there is still a budget available for 9,671 new electric cars and SEPP subsidy has been applied for for 13,041 new EVs.
