After making a name for itself two years ago with the Two Stroke, Lancashire-based Langen Motorcycles has lifted the curtains on the LightSpeed 1200 (LS-12), a branched version of the Two Stroke, at the British motorcycle show Motorcycle Live in Birmingham. was developed around the Buell 1,190cc V-twin, good for a top power of 185 hp at a weight of only 185 kilos.

Under the motto “we do things differently here”, Langen Motorcycles owner and creative guru Chris Ratcliffe launched the Langen Two Stroke in the autumn of 2020, a super cool sporty naked that was powered by a 250cc two-stroke V-twin engine produced in Italy by Vins. good for a top power of 78 hp with a weight of 119 kilos ready-made, excluding petrol.
Thanks to a well-filled order book, the limited production of the Two Stroke could be started for a year and a half. With all 100 units of this super exclusive and cool two-stroke now sold, Ratcliffe has his hands free to launch the successor – an engine that once again lives up to Langen’s motto that they do things differently in Lancashire.
That’s because the Langen LightSpeed 1200, or the LS-12, is just as impressive with an eye-catching design, a naked streetfighter with a super extreme power/weight ratio of 1 hp per kilo, packed with exclusive premium parts and powered by the 185 hp 1,192cc 8-valve V-twin that was purchased from Buell Motorcyles in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The Buell V-twin is mounted in a tubular steel frame, with an Öhlins upside-down front fork at the front and double Öhlins rear shocks, HEL performance radial brake calipers with 320 mm brake discs and carbon fiber bodywork. Langen has not yet announced more than that, but an extensive preview will follow in early December.
The LightSpeed will initially be marketed as a UK Launch Edition, in a limited edition of 185 units, which (just like the Two Stroke) will be produced as a tailor-made suit and entirely in the customers’ own scent and taste. This way you can determine the color yourself and you can choose from different handlebars, wheels and other unique parts for the finishing touch.
The bad news is that the UK Launch Edition is only homologated for the United Kingdom, with a start of production planned for early 2025, but the good news is that worldwide homologation will follow from 2026, although production of that series will also be limited .

At Langen we believe that “cars move the body, but motorcycles move the soul” – demonstrating the elusive and unparalleled human experience of driving and owning a Langen. When you throw a leg over the LightSpeed, you quickly realize that it is not just a motorcycle, but a pulse-pounding, moving symphony of power and style.
