The facelifted version can be ordered from 2024

Earlier this year, Kia presented the updated Sorento for the Korean market. Now we also know which powertrain you can expect in the SUV in the Netherlands.
Little changes under the hood. This means that the Kia Sorento is still available as a plug-in hybrid with a 1.6 T-GDI petrol engine and a 13.8 kWh battery, linked to a six-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is standard. The hybrid variant has a 1.6 T-GDI in combination with a 1.49 kWh battery. This engine version also has a six-speed automatic transmission, but in combination with front-wheel drive.
The biggest updates are exterior changes to both the exterior and interior. The SUV has a completely new face with sharper lines and a more robust design. This translates into a large nose, including the enlarged grille and the striking, vertically positioned headlights. The front of the new Sorento comes closer to that of the EV9. Unlike the fully electric EV9, this SUV still relies on current hybrid and plug-in hybrid engines.
On the inside, the Kia will soon be available with recycled plastic or artificial leather. With the updated interior, the infotainment system has also been overhauled: the cockpit is equipped with a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with navigation and a 12.3-inch instrument panel plus head-up display for the driver. The facelift can be ordered from early next year.
