Charging network with benefits for electric BMWs and Benzes

BMW and Mercedes-Benz will jointly set up an extensive charging network for electric cars in China. The first charging stations should be put into use next year.
BMW’s joint venture with Brilliance in China will set up a Chinese charging network together with the Chinese branch of Mercedes-Benz. By the end of 2026, the two companies want to have installed ‘at least 1,000’ charging stations in China with a total of around 7,000 fast charging points. With the network, the brands seem to want to offer an alternative to Tesla’s Supercharger network.
BMW and Mercedes-Benz want to have the first fast charging stations ready by next year. The charging stations should be usable not only by owners of electric models from BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Electric cars from other manufacturers must also have access to the charging network, although the German brands do speak of advantages for those who have an electric Benz or BMW. For example, they must be able to reserve a charging spot.
