Lexus UX 300h

We know the Lexus UX with electric (UX 300e) and with hybrid drive (UX 250h). The latter will be removed from the range and replaced by the UX 300h. It does everything just that little bit better.

The least expensive Lexus until the arrival of the LBX is getting another update. The Lexus UX 250h leaves the field and gets a successor in the Lexus UX 300h. It follows the same basic recipe, but is slightly better in several respects. The higher number already gives it away a bit: it has a slightly higher power. Once again a 2.0 four-cylinder engine with a hybrid system does its job, but that is now good for a system power of 199 hp instead of 184 hp. The four-wheel drive version also has a new electric motor in the rear, which is stronger than that of the UX 250h and should lead to a smoother throttle response.

The power spurt is also noticeable in the figures: the 0-100 sprint is now completed in 8.1 instead of 8.5 seconds with the front-wheel drive version. The four-wheel drive UX 300h has made even more progress thanks to the new electric motor: it does it in 7.9 seconds instead of the 8.7 seconds of the UX 250h. You don’t compromise on economy, on the contrary; the Lexus UX 300h is about 12 percent more economical than its predecessor. Furthermore, the Lexus UX 300h should be better prepared for tougher cornering, partly because it has become stiffer. There are also innovations in the interior; There is now a choice of a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and the infotainment screen has been renewed. Lexus has also re-examined the safety systems. Now the UX also warns you if you want to get out while, for example, a cyclist is approaching from behind.

The Lexus UX 300h will be ready in the second quarter of the new year. Before then, we will hear what the improvements have done to the price tag of the UX.
