Are you going to buy a new or used electric car in 2024?

Choices!

Are you going to buy a new or used electric car in 2024?

Sales of new electric cars are slumping, while sales of used electric cars seem more stable. That brings us to the next question: will you buy a new or used electric car in 2024?

The SEPP subsidy pot for used EVs, which was capped at the beginning of this year, has long been empty down to the last euro cent. And this while there is still a subsidy budget available for thousands of new electric cars. Anyone who wants to purchase a used electric car now would be better off waiting until 2024. Next year there will again be a subsidy scheme that should make the purchase (or lease) of a used electric car more attractive.

With the high fuel prices in mind, we can well imagine that purchasing an EV can be financially quite attractive. Of course, you may have many reasons for wanting an electric car – or not. Perhaps you fear that the range is too limited, or you are not interested in charging at a general charging station in the street. Or maybe you are in the camp that wants an EV with the idea of helping the environment. Or perhaps you like the linear acceleration of an EV? In short, it’s understandable in all directions.

That brings us to the next question: Are you planning to purchase a new or used electric car in 2024?

Why or why not? And you may even already know which one it will be and whether or not you will use the SEPP subsidy scheme. Let us know in the comments.

As always, your opinion does not have to be someone else’s. If all goes well, we are all on AutoWeek.nl because we have a thing about cars, so be kind to each other and try not to be too pushy.
