Ford every now and then comes up with nice and extreme creations and certainly does not shy away from electric cars. Now it’s the turn of the Ford F-150 Lightning, which is a lot more adventurous than usual.

It has been shown several times that Ford Performance also knows what to do with electric cars. For example, we are thinking of very extreme creations such as the SuperVan 4 and SuperVan 4.2, but also of the no less than 1,400 hp strong Mustang Mach-E 1400. Now Ford Performance, together with RTR Vehicles, has done it again, with the electric Ford F -150 to give Lightning some sort of Raptor treatment.

The F-150 Lightning gets the addition of Switchgear, a name that, according to Ford, emphasizes that the car is very capable both on unpaved terrain and on asphalt. For the time being we only get to see the unpaved party, later Ford will come back to what he can do on the asphalt. In any case, its longer suspension travel and wider track make it quite ready for serious bumps. Fox shock absorbers with a diameter of about eight centimeters should largely absorb the impacts. At the front, the F-150 Switchgear also has independent double wishbone suspension. At the rear there is independent multi-link suspension. Finally, the carriage is partly made of carbon fiber and has Recaro racing seats.

As mentioned, Ford will announce more later. Then we will probably also hear whether anything has been done with the drivetrain. The Ford F-150 Lightning normally produces 571 hp and 1,051 Nm, so you can get by with that quite well.
