Also European sales record for Kia

The party just doesn’t end for Kia. It previously appeared that it had achieved a global sales record in 2023, but now it also appears to have been an unprecedentedly successful year at European level.

Just a few days after New Year’s Eve, it was already clear to Kia: 2023 was a record year. It sold more than 3.08 million cars worldwide, breaking an almost ten-year-old record. We could also already calculate that it was another record year for Kia in the Netherlands, after it had already risen to unprecedented heights in 2022. Kia sold 33,565 new cars in our country. Figures from trade organization ACEA now show that Kia has once again had a record year in Europe, just like the year before. Kia proudly reports this to us.

Kia sold 572,297 cars on our continent last year, 5.4 percent more than in 2022. That growth was enough to give the brand a European market share of 4.5 percent. As was the case worldwide, the Sportage was the most popular in Europe. Of these, 165,354 were sold in our country. De Ceed (87,246) and De Niro (73,582) are in second and third place consecutively. Of the electric Kias, the Niro EV was the most popular (40,074), followed by the EV6, with 36,195 units. In the Netherlands the Picanto finished at the top.
