Citroen Ami Charleston

Last year, AutoWeek already surfaced promising patent plates of a Citroën Ami transformed into a Charleston. Now it can be admired in full regalia and is pleasantly reminiscent of times gone by.

Although not passenger cars pur sang are, but rather a kind of electric microcars, we occasionally consider the smallest four-wheelers from Citroën, Opel and Fiat. After all, the city EVs, called Ami, Rocks Electric and Topolino respectively, show that car manufacturers do more than just release traditional passenger cars. After all, urban mobility sometimes requires slightly different vehicles, such as this Stellantis trio. The nice retro-looking Fiat Topolino in particular proves that it can also be a bit fashionable. However, this Citroën Ami ‘Charleston by Biancone’ can also do something.

The Charleston version, which was already admired here at AutoWeek in November, has now appeared in real life and has been extensively photographed. Citroën shares the images of this creation, although Citroën itself is not responsible for it. It is the work of the Italian designer Massimo Biancone. He took the Ami by the scraps and gave it the Rouge Delage-Noir paint scheme known from the Citroën 2CV Charleston.

Not only that; Inside the Ami you are also treated to some retro elements. For example, there is the block motif on the upholstery of the more luxurious chairs. It even has a steering wheel that looks like it was taken straight from a 2CV. Not only are the seats more luxurious than normal, the Ami Charleston also has interior lighting under the dashboard, darkened side windows and rear, and an audio system that can handle Bluetooth. The icing on the cake is the fabric roller roof, like the 2CV also had. The Citroën Ami Charleston is not sold by Citroën itself; it can only be ordered directly from Massimo Biancone. It is not yet clear what it will cost.
