On to the reveal
On Valentine’s Day you can of course surprise your loved one with a nice present, but Skoda prefers to use that day to present the new Octavia. However, the surprise has already worn off a bit before then.
Just over a week and then the curtain will go up on the refreshed Skoda Octavia; the time has come on February 14th. The gentlemen and ladies from Mladá Boleslav have been increasing the tension for some time now. At the beginning of this year, the Octavia already showed off its new lighting, a week ago Skoda shared dark pictures of it. Now the Czechs grab two design sketches of the Octavia from the drawing board to show the world.
The sketch of the updated Skoda Octavia Combi clearly shows how the front of the Octavia has changed. From now on, there is a part of the headlights that extends further down directly next to the grille, partly outlined with LED daytime running lights. Furthermore, there is of course a new front bumper. At the rear we also see a modified bumper and new lights.
The Skoda Octavia has been sharing technology with the Volkswagen Golf, among others, for many years and has now just been presented in a facelifted form. That already makes it somewhat clear what technical innovations are coming for the Octavia. Count on improved plug-in hybrid powertrains, which will make approximately 100 km of fully electric driving possible. There is also a good chance that the plug-in hybrid RS will receive a power treatment and will soon have 272 hp instead of 245 hp. Whether it will be present again in the Netherlands remains to be seen. Currently the 204 hp Octavia Combi PHEV is the strongest.
