Also for the Netherlands

MG will soon no longer be the only brand of the Chinese giant SAIC Motor that offers its (electric) goods in Europe. IM will also be active on the European market from 2025. Today we can show you the latest model: the IM L6. It will be available with solid-state batteries, among other things!
The new MG 3 will shine on the MG stand in Geneva. That hybrid hatchback is also coming to the Netherlands, but is certainly not their only stock market news. Parent company SAIC also brings a set of electric models of its IM brand and immediately takes the opportunity to make a completely new IM make its world debut.
We are talking about the IM L6, a recently announced newcomer from IM Motors. IM Motors is what SAIC calls a premium electric brand. IM Motors – whose letters IM stand for Intelligent Mobility, already has LS6 and LS7 electric SUVs in its range in its home country of China and also sells a large electric sedan: the L7. The L6 is completely new, also for the Chinese public. AutoWeek could already show you the IM L6 before the Chinese showed images of it themselves, but now IM Motors has also released the first images of the L6 into the world.
The IM L6 is 4.93 meters long, 1.96 meters wide and 1.47 meters low. This makes it comparable in size to cars such as the Volkswagen ID7. In China, the car will be launched with 294 hp, 337 hp and 408 hp electric motors. There will be a version with a lithium-ion battery that can travel ‘more than 600 kilometers’ on a full battery, but also a variant with what is called the holy grail of battery technology in the car world. The IM L6 will have a variant with solid-state batteries and a range of more than 800 kilometers. IM Motors does not yet share detailed technical specifications.
At the MG and IM stand we will also find the LS6, the LS7 and the L7, which are already available in China. The LS6 is a 4.9 meter long SUV-like car with a steeply sloping roofline. With its vehicle length of 5.05 meters, the IM LS7 is the big SUV brother of the LS6. The L7, in turn, is the larger alternative to the brand new L6. With its length of 5.1 meters, the IM L7 is considerably larger than the LS6. SAIC’s MG is also taking a number of unknown models to Geneva, including the MG 7 and the electric MG 9. We did not know the latter (photo 16) yet, but it is also interesting. In fact, it is an electric sedan from another sub-brand of MG: Rising Auto. Rising Auto sells an electric SUV that has the R7 and an electric sedan that goes by the model name F7. MG has put its own brand name on the Rising Auto F7. The F7 is exactly 5 meters long and is available in China with battery packs of 64 kWh, 77 kWh and 90 kWh.
We do not yet have any information regarding the Dutch market, although we can say with certainty that IM models are also coming our way. Furthermore, it is clear that SAIC is eager to show off what it has to offer by showing models already delivered in China in Geneva.
