Husqvarna announces Svartpilen 801

It took longer to arrive (and is different) than expected, but two years after the launch of the Norden 901, an LC8c version of the Svartpilen will finally be released, which will be unveiled on March 19 as Svartpilen 801. In the run-up to this, Husqvarna has already released first images and summary information.

Husqvarna announces Svartpilen 801

The 2024 Svartpilen 801 is, according to the Austrians, “an all-new mid-range model” designed to deliver “a powerful combination of performance, agility and contemporary style” to “take driving to even greater heights.” The biggest surprise, however, is that Husqvarna has labeled it “801”, meaning it will be powered by the 799cc version of the LC8c parallel twin and not the 889cc version of the same engine used in the Norden 901.

According to Husqvarna, the Svartpilen 801 weighs only 181 kg and is powered by the well-known LC8c parallel twin with an output of 105 hp, but does not indicate the exact engine capacity. The versatility of the Svartpilen 801 is further enhanced by advanced electronic rider assistance systems, including Easy Shift for seamless shifting as standard.

Another great marketing slogan: “A class-leading technology package maximizes the driving experience and safety on every journey.” In other words, the 801 is equipped with electronic aids, which will be of the same caliber as the KTM LC8c Duke. Just like the complete bicycle part comes from the Duke, including suspension and brakes.

Husqvarna claims that as part of an extensive testing process the Svartpilen 801 prototype was ridden on both a flat oval track and an ice rink. This varied program of lateral action and self-described stunning ice rides on studded tires played a crucial role in the development of a truly versatile motorcycle that “encourages you to escape the ordinary.”

Full specifications, images and technical data of the new Svartpilen 801 will be released on March 19, 2024.
