Lotus Emeya

After the very strong Lotus Eletre, an equally impressive EV is now on the way; the Emeya. Now we know what it should cost; its price tag is even more impressive than that of the Eletre.

Almost six months ago to the day, Lotus pulled the curtains on a brand new ‘super sedan’, the Emeya. Because of its body shape you can place it in the bloodline of the Lotus Omega, but otherwise the Emeya has nothing to do with it at all. To begin with, it is a fully electric car and its power of up to 918 hp makes even the crazy Lotus Omega for its time pale into little more than a smooth sedan. It’s all nice and excessive and that is also reflected in the price.

More expensive than Eletre

Although it is not affected by the bpm, you still have to pay at least €109,685 for the Lotus Emeya. This makes it more than ten grand more expensive than the Eletre, although the prices for the more intense versions are closer together. The starting price applies to the unnamed basic version, which, like the ‘entry-level’ Eletre, produces 612 hp. The Lotus Emeya has, among other things, active air suspension, matrix LED headlights, four-zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors and a 360-degree camera.

One step higher in the ranking is (again, just like the Eletre) the S. It has, among other things, not 20 but 21 inch wheels, better brakes, privacy glass and more mood lighting in the interior. It is just as strong as the basic version and in all cases there is a 102 kWh battery pack in the Emeya. The price of the Lotus Emeya S is €130,585, about six grand more than you pay for the Lotus Eletre S.

The strongest Lotus Emeya

At the top of the ranking is the Lotus Emeya R. At €155,025, it is slightly more expensive than the Eletre R and more than €45,000 more expensive than the basic Emeya, but you do get something in return. The R is over 300 hp stronger and has a 918 hp drivetrain. This means it can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 256 km/h instead of 250 km/h. This variant does have a somewhat smaller range; 485 km. A maximum range of 610 km is specified for the basic version and the Emeya S. Fast charging is possible in all cases up to a very impressive charging capacity of up to 350 kW, with which you can theoretically charge from 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes.

We expect the Lotus Emeya in the Netherlands in the third quarter. You can order immediately.
