EV peak reached?

More new cars were sold in the EU last month than in February last year. It is striking that the market share of electric cars has usually grown in recent years, but that was not the case in February.
Last month, 10 percent more passenger cars were sold in the European Union than a year earlier. The market share for petrol and diesel cars shrank slightly, the European trade organization ACEA announced. A total of 883,608 passenger cars were registered. The Volkswagen Group was the market leader with almost 256,000 cars sold.
The number of electric cars sold increased slightly less rapidly than the total car market, but the market share remained virtually the same. Of all new cars, 12 percent were plug-in cars, just like a year earlier. The market share of diesel and petrol cars shrank somewhat in a year, from almost 52 percent to just over 48 percent. Nearly three in ten new cars sold last month had a hybrid powertrain.
