Cupra is launching a brand new SUV called Terramar. We’ve actually known that for a long time. After all, the Spaniards have been testing this newcomer for years. The Cupra Terramar finally gives a new sign of life.
Almost two years ago, Cupra showed three new models, none of which are yet for sale. In mid-2022 we saw the first images of the electric Tavascan, the electric UrbanRebel and the Terramar, which was eventually renamed Raval. The Cupra Terramar is the only one of that bunch that is not an EV. The Terramar will be a technical brother of the new Volkswagen Tiguan and the next generation of the Audi Q3. The first test copies of the Terramar appeared in public at the end of 2022, but it is still not for sale. Still, things will turn out fine with this model, because Cupra has once again sent out packed test copies and there are photos of them.

The Cupra Terramar should come onto the market this year. In the Netherlands too. An official debut will not be long in coming. The example you see in these photos was caught near the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. Like its technical sister models, the Terramar will also be launched with plug-in hybrid powertrains that should enable an electric range of about 100 kilometers. Count on front-wheel drive variants, but also on flavors with four-wheel drive. The approximately 4.5 meter long Cupra Terramar will soon roll off the production line at Audi’s factory in Hungary. Due to the disappearance of the Audi TT, a production site has become available there. There will be no fully electric Terramars. At the end of last year, AutoWeek was able to show you the exterior and interior of the Cupra Terramar on patent images from all angles.
