And the Netherlands?
Fisker offers huge discounts on the Ocean in its home country. Prices drop by up to €22,000. It is not yet clear whether and to what extent the Fisker Ocean will become significantly less expensive in the Netherlands.
Fisker is certainly not in a good financial position and so the news about a huge price reduction that it is implementing on the Ocean has a somewhat bitter aftertaste. In the United States, the prices of the Fisker Ocean of model year 2023 – the previous model year – will drop enormously. The basic model, the Fisker Ocean Sport, is now on the order books for the equivalent of €23,110, while it normally costs more than €36,000 in the United States. The price reductions that Fisker is implementing on the Ocean Ultra and Extreme from the previous model year are even more significant.
The Fisker Ocean Ultra of model year 2023 now costs €34,999, compared to around €48,990 previously. The top model Ocean Extreme of the same model year can now take home the equivalent of €34,665, while it previously cost the equivalent of €56,850. A price drop of over €22,000. Depending on the selected model, the Oceans of model year 2023 are even equipped with up to €6,500 in options. Although these are already produced units from the previous model year, the stock models are equipped with the latest software. According to Fisker, this positions the Ocean more than before as an ‘affordable and interesting’ EV. The brand’s much-needed hunt for more customers is undoubtedly related to this.
It is not yet known whether stock models of the Fisker Ocean will also go on sale in the Netherlands. We are awaiting a response from Fisker’s Dutch department. In the Netherlands, the Fisker Ocean is available as a Sport from €43,990. The Ultra and Extreme cost €58,990 and €63,590 respectively.
