The DS 4 is the next of the Stellantis models to be available with a mild-hybrid powertrain. This is the DS 4 Hybrid, a mild-hybrid variant that replaces the regular petrol version.
Until now, the DS 4 was available in the Netherlands as a plug-in hybrid E-Tense 225, but was also available with a non-electrified 130 hp 1.2 PureTech petrol engine. The latter engine option will now be discontinued, but one will be replaced. From now on, the DS 4 is also available as a Hybrid.
The DS 4 Hybrid has the well-known mild-hybrid powertrain from Stellantis. It is made up of a 136 hp and 230 Nm strong 1.2 PureTech three-cylinder engine that is supported by a 28 hp electric motor housed in the six-speed automatic transmission. The result? A sprint from standstill to a speed of 100 km/h is completed in 10.4 seconds. This means you gain 1.2 seconds compared to the disappeared 130 hp 1.2 PureTech. More relevant is the consumption profit. According to the French, the DS 4 Hybrid consumes 1.1 l/100 km less than the regular petrol version. This also results in lower CO2 emissions for the car.
The DS 4 is certainly not the first Stellantis model to receive the mild-hybrid powertrain, but DS has nevertheless arranged a scoop for the 4 Hybrid. It is the first DS model that is available in the new (and old, well-known) Pallas and Étoile versions. The DS 4 Hybrid costs €42,090 as Pallas and changes hands as Étoile from €46,740. Until recently, the DS 4 Hybrid with a 130 hp 1.2 was also available from €42,090, so the DS 4 Hybrid Pallas is just as expensive.
More DS news? Certainly! DS promises not only the arrival of one fully electric model this year, but of “one hundred percent battery-electric models.” Interesting!
