Honda has come up with three new fresh colours for the MSX125 Grom for model year 2025. And not only that, for the first time Honda has also refreshed the design and come up with a range of official Honda accessories for the cool 125cc.

User-friendly, fun and functional, that is according to Honda the MSX125 Grom in a nutshell. The original leisure bike was defined by Honda in 1963 with the iconic Monkey with its small wheels, which disappeared from the scene in our country somewhere in the 80s of the last century, but remained incredibly popular, especially in Asia.
In the 21st century, the formula resonated with a new generation of young bikers, with the little Honda becoming known as ‘Dek Neaw’ in Thailand and ‘Street-Kei’ in Japan. A new generation looking for a bike that was exciting but not unnecessarily challenging, with a fresh design that was different from anything else.
In 2013, Honda introduced the MSX125 (Mini Street X-treme 125) to specifically meet the needs of these young riders. Always known as the ‘Grom’ in Japan and the US, the MSX125 added the same title to its European name for 2021. A globally renowned product, the Grom has been a hit around the world since its introduction and has established itself as a firm favourite, whether used for basic city transport or as a highly customised style statement by its target audience.

In 2021, the Grom received a new, retro styling direction and a 5-speed gearbox, improving top speed. In the 2025 version, the MSX125 Grom remains mechanically unchanged, but gains a revised chassis, new paint options and a host of Genuine Honda accessories. But it is still, as Honda so nicely puts it: a small bike that dreams big.
What’s different about the 2025 Grom? The big difference is in the styling, where the MSX125 Grom’s tank covers get a new, more aggressive look, with a more forward-leaning stance and knee recesses. This is reflected in the restyled side panels and new sporty lower fairing, complemented by the sleek LED headlight, minimal seat and subframe.
And inspired by the continuous efforts of customers to make their bike unique, the MSX125 Grom is designed around the concept of adaptability and ease of customization. The bodywork remains easily removable and also offers much more surface area for an owner to express individuality by adding stickers, graphics or wraps. The new Grom logo takes pride of place up front.
Underneath the skin, the Grom remains the same. The 125cc air-cooled, 2-valve SOHC engine is just powerful enough to ride in the wake of trucks on the highway, but its real habitat lies on back roads and in the city. The chassis still features 31mm upside-down forks and 12-inch wheels to combine the dimensions of a small motorcycle with the suspension and handling of a big bike. IMU-controlled control of the disc brakes adds an extra layer of riding confidence.
The gold finish of the upside-down front forks stands out against the black-finished engine, exhaust, wheels and swingarm. The LCD dashboard is easy to read with its compact size and includes a rev counter and gear position indicator, in addition to a speedometer, dual trip meters, fuel gauge and clock. Resetting the trip meters and clock, or switching between odometer and trip meter, is controlled using switches on either side of the display.
The 2025 MSX125 Grom will be available in Candy Blue, Pearl White and Matte Black Metallic. Price and delivery time are not yet known.
