Honda has made aesthetic updates to the 2025 CRF1100L Africa Twin models. New color schemes have been created for the Africa Twin Adventure Sports models, while the standard Africa Twin only gets new graphics.

Aesthetic updates for 2025 Africa Twin

The figures show that the return of the Africa Twin Honda has paid off: since the reintroduction of the legendary name in 2016, the Africa Twin has become the second most popular model in the one-litre-plus Adventure class, with more than 104,000 units sold throughout Europe bearing the Africa Twin name.

Since its return, it has consistently been in the top 3 best-selling Honda motorcycles and was even the best-selling Honda motorcycle in 6 of the 8 calendar years from 2016 to 2023.

Also a nice record: in 2017, the Africa Twin broke the record for the highest altitude ever reached by a twin-cylinder motorcycle – 5,965 metres above sea level on the Nevado Ojos del Salado volcano, between Argentina and Chile.

Not enough facts for you? In 2023, 63% of Africa Twin Adventure Sports customers chose the DCT version. The Africa Twin has starred in four highly successful Honda Adventure Roads expeditions, taking amateur riders on unique journeys spanning thousands of kilometres across South Africa, Norway, Iceland and Morocco.

The Africa Twin nameplate appeared in 1988 on the Honda XRV650 Africa Twin, a bike directly derived from the NXR750; a four-time consecutive winner of the Dakar rally (1986, 1987, 1988, 1989). France, Italy and the UK have dedicated off-road adventure centres, offering customers an ideal place to test the Africa Twin in its natural habitat.

That said, on to the news regarding the Africa Twin and that is the new colour palette that Big Red has come up with for the more luxurious Adventure Sports version and the new graphics that it has come up with for the more hardcore Africa Twin.

Mechanically unchanged for 2025, the CRF1100L Africa Twin retains its core off-road capability, with the look and feel of a tuned rally machine. Its 1,084cc parallel-twin engine produces 112Nm of torque and 102PS of peak power for exhilarating performance on and off-road.

The CRF1100L Africa Twin itself remains available in two variants – standard and ‘ES’ – with different suspension types: the standard fully adjustable Showa suspension and the Showa Electronically Equipped Ride Adjustment (Showa EERATM), which provides optimum damping characteristics for all riding conditions and the ability to adjust the rear spring preload while riding.

The 25YM CRF1100L Africa Twin will be available in three colourways:
• Grand Prix Red – with completely new graphics
• Matt Ballistic Black Metallic – with new red details
• Pearl Glare White with all-new Tricolore graphics (exclusive to the ‘ES’ version)

The CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports variant has an even greater range than its sibling thanks to its 24.8-litre fuel tank and still uses the 19-inch front wheel introduced on the 24YM to further improve handling on the road.

The 25YM CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports will be available in two colorways:
• **NEW** Matt Iridium Gray Metallic – a stylish new colorway unique to the Adventure Sports
• Pearl Glare White – the classic ‘Tricolore’ colour scheme with all-new graphics
