2025 is the Chinese year of the snake. And so it is not surprising that Vespa is launching a Snake edition of the 946, a new limited edition reinterpretation of the iconic model. According to the Italians, the 946 Snake embodies the essence of winter.
With its design inspired by icy landscapes and the ethereal beauty of winter, the Vespa 946 Snake stands out for its iridescent blue livery in icy tones that pay tribute to the purity and power of snowy landscapes.
Interwoven into this glacial landscape is the inspiration of the snake, incorporated into the handles and saddle, modeled to “recall the soft texture of the animal’s skin,” according to Vespa. The chrome hose on both the fuel cap and mudguard completes a design project that Vespa says combines strength, grace and originality.
Available in a limited edition of only 888 numbered scooters, how could it be otherwise with 8, the Chinese lucky number. Vespa hopes that the 946 Snake will become a collector’s item in the Lunar collection, the series of limited-edition models that pay tribute to the Lunar calendar.
The Vespa 946 Snake is accompanied by a range of accessories, created “with the utmost attention to design and functionality, and closely matched to the style of the collection.” The helmet, with its removable interior and tinted visor, has a handcrafted attention to detail and reflects the finish of the scooter: an iridescent blue with a 3D chrome hose. The Vespa Snake universe is rounded off with a selection of ready-to-wear items and accessories from the Vespa Snake Capsule, which was presented in October and has now been enriched with two key items: the long puff coat and the bomber jacket.
The white, floor-length puffer coat envelops the body in a warm embrace, while the tone-on-tone details of the snake profile recall the central theme of the collection. The bomber jacket has an iridescent sheen that is reminiscent of the icy tones of the winter landscape. The contrast between the shiny fabric and the embroidered graphic details gives the piece a strong, contemporary aesthetic.
