The purpose of this case is to protect your smartphone when it falls out of your hands. The TPE bumper around the case provides extra protection, with a thickness of 3.3 mm it offers protection against a fall of a maximum of 5.4 meters. For comparison: the Sport Case has a bumper thickness of 1.9 mm and fall protection up to 2.4 meters.
The corners of the bumper are extra reinforced so that they will take care of the biggest impact in the event of a fall. Easy to operate screen
In recent years we have used Nomad covers more often to protect our iPhone. I discovered something new in the iPhone 16 series. This makes the screen easier to operate. It seems that Nomad has adjusted the edge around the screen and completed more. You notice this at the bottom. This makes it easier to sweep up to open the app selector or close an app.
Buttons and camera control
The volume buttons, action button and on-off button are made of aluminum and protrude slightly making them easy to operate. The color of the buttons corresponds to the color of the bumper so that they stand out less.
The camera control is neatly processed in the cover without it standing unnecessarily. Nomad has opted for an accurate recess that the controller follows exactly. The edges also run up slowly so that you can operate the camera control well and the case is not in the way.
It is a stylish solution without the addition of an extra button. I like working. First I had the official Apple case with integrated button from Sapphire crystal that is connected to a conductive layer, but this was not that handy. Too often I pressed the button unintentionally. I am not bothered by this with the Nomad cover.

The Nomad Rugged Case for the iPhone 16 series is, as we are normal from the manufacturer, of excellent quality. The cover is perfectly finished, the extra large TPE bumper ensures a good grip and provides high fall protection. The edge around the display is rendered, making it easier to operate the screen and it is still protected when your iPhone is close to the table.
The accurate recess for the camera control is neatly solved and ensures that you do not press the button unintentionally. Yet for a backed case it had been a better solution to integrate a button so that this button is also fully protected. The other aluminum buttons are also sleek, firm and convenient to use.
Finally, I am very pleased with the matte finish. This makes the case less sensitive to fingerprints and scratches. In addition, it gives the cover an extra premium look.
