Maybe you have installed several dials on your Apple Watch. If you want to change dial you might do this via the Apple Watch app for your iPhone or put your finger on the dial to get to the adjustment menu. But with this trick it can be even faster.
The Apple Watch dials are the heart of the smart watch and you can personalize. This is not only possible via the Apple Watch itself, but also via your iPhone. If you use multiple dials, you can easily change so that they always match your outfit, mood or activity.
Switch quickly between dials
On an Apple Watch with Watchos 9 or older you can quickly switch between the different dials. Turn the Apple Watch towards you or tap the screen to activate it. Then wipe from right to left or vice versa to switch between the different plates.
Of course you can still put your finger on the screen to adjust the dial and change it. Because you now know how to change easily, it might be smart to create different dials with different functions. Think of an activity dial with quick access to your heart rate, workout and breathing.
Steps for Watchos 10 or newer (new)
In the first instance, under Watchos 10 it was not possible to switch quickly between several dials, Apple resolved this with effect from Watchos 10.2. You can activate the trick to sweep again.
- Open Settings on your Apple Watch
- Go to ‘Clock’
- Take in the option ‘Wipe to choose another dial’
NB! You can only activate this option via the Apple Watch itself and not the Watch app on your iPhone.
Once you have activated the option, you can quickly switch between dials by activating the screen of your Apple Watch and wiping it to the left or right. Have you not enabled this option? Then place your finger on the dial and wait until it is ‘open’. Then wipe left or right to choose another.
Adjust order dials
Open the Apple Watch application and navigate to ‘My Watch’. Immediately you see ‘my dials’ at the top. Tap a dial to adjust it to your own liking. For example, you can add complications and adjust the color of the hands. Tap above the overview of all your dials on ‘Change’ to adjust the order or to remove it. You can create new versions via the ‘Dials’ tab and add it to the Watch.
