Honda shows CB1000F and CB1000F SE concept models

Officially they are still concept models, but nobody who still doubts about the arrival of two new Honda models with super cool retro looks: the CB1000F and CB1000F SE, presented by Honda during the 8 hours of Suzuka.

Honda shows CB1000F and CB1000F SE concept models

Kawasaki did it with the Z900RS, Suzuki with the GSX-S1000 Katana and now Honda also seems to be on his way to breathe new life into a new life, as witnessed by the CB1000F and CB1000F SE who were still being spent as a concept models during the 8 hours of Suzuka (officially owned by Honda).

The CB1000F concept was already presented earlier, as the successor to the CB-F Concept that had already been unveiled in 2020. The difference between the two concepts was in the donor used: where the 2020 concept was the block and bicycle part of the CB1000R, the apparently almost production -free CB1000F used the mechanical items of the CB1000 Hornet, including 150 hp Fireblade engine block.

The CB1000F SE presented on Suzuka is basically equal to the previously presented CB1000F, but then with miniscule headlight bowl such as Suzuki recently applied to the GSX-8TTT. That plus a somewhat adapted saddle.

Although officially presented as concept models, that idea was actually immediately invalidated by Honda, by presenting two color schemes of both models. In addition to the earlier gray/blue now also a silver/gray variant for the CB1000F and a black/gray variant for the CB1000F SE.

Both models are expected to be launched in 2026 as successors of the CB1300 Super Four and CB1300 Super Bol d’Or, which have not been available outside of Japan for a while and were derived from the 1992 CB1000 Super Four Project BIG-1. Honda has already announced that the two CB1300 models will be taken out of production in 2026, currently both models in Japan are offered as Final Edition.

The key question, however, is whether the CB1000F and F SE will also be put on the market outside of Japan. Technically that would be no problem at all, since they are derived from the CB1000F Hornet that already has type approval, but so far Honda has limited itself exclusively to the Japanese market in her communication.

And that would not be the first time, Honda did exactly the same with the Hawk 11 Cafe Racer, also such a bicycle with retro-looks that all the ingredients had to break through on the international market, but was only put on the market in Japan. If Honda decides to launch the CB1000F and CB1000F SE outside of Japan, then we will notice that this year at the last EICMA in Milan. Before that they will be presented in Japan on the Japan Mobility Show (formerly the Tokyo Motor Show).
