Suzuki offers new color options for the legendary Hayabusa GSX -1300R. In addition, there is a ‘Special Edition’, with which the Japanese have done a little more.
The GSX-R1300 has been part of the Suzuki Gamma for more than twenty-five years. Launched at the end of the last century, the Hayabusa provided quite a bit of consternation in Brussels. To listen to the launch of the Hayabusa, Suzuki had put it on Nardo, the 12.5 km long circuit in the form of a circle, which drives like an infinitely long straight road. A top speed of 300 km/h was achieved there with the Hayabusa.
The news turned the politics upside down, also our Minister of Transport, Public Works and Water Management at the time, PvdA member Tineke Netelenbos, said that the Hayabusa should be banned. However, Suzuki played in the map, it contributed to the mythical cult status of the Hayabusa. In order not to make discussions out of hand, Suzuki decided to reduce the top speed to ‘only’ 299 km/h.
In 2007 the second generation (model year 2008) followed Hayabusa, where Suzuki had only adjusted the controversial appearance in detail, but the engine had adjusted considerably under the skin and had now provided a drive fashion selector. No other motorcycle in the world that accelerated from 0-200 km/h as the Hayabusa. In 2013, the Hayabusa ABS received, and then remained in production for another six years, until the euro 5 emission requirements heralded the end of the legend.
However, that was only of short duration, February 2021 the third generation Hayabusa was announced, which was refined in all areas and was now provided with Suzuki’s most complete electronics package. Although the top power of the 1,340cc four-in-line was returned from 197 to 190 hp by 9,700 rpm, with 150 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm, but Suzuki had made up for that with a stronger central area.
To illustrate: the previous Hayabusa sprinted to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, the new one does two tenths faster, in 3.2 seconds. Just like the first two generations, the top speed was also limited to 299 km/h at the 3rd generation. In the meantime, the Hayabusa has been on the market for 4 years, and Suzuki has released new colors before 2026.
The new colors for the Suzuki Hayabusa GSX -1300R are:
– Metallic Galaxy Gray / Candy Burnt Gold (C81)
– Glass Sparkle Black / Candy Daring Red (AV4)
– Pearl Brilliant White / Pearl Vigor Blue (JWN)
Exclusively for 2026 there is a ‘Special Edition’ in the color Pearl Vigor Blue (YKY). This new color scheme takes Pearl Vigor Blue as a basis and combines it with accents in Pearl Brilliant White. The engine is equipped with a special edition emblem on the tank, imposed Suzuki logo and the wheels are also equipped in the Pearl Vigor Blue. Furthermore, the exclusive appearance is reinforced by anodized heat shields on the exhausts.
